Pssst--I know I don't talk about it anymore, but that's one of my favs, though it's a tough show to listen to with various techno probs...the StSt is singular, with a bouncey intro like few others, perhaps because they were transitioning over the next month or so to the longer version of 69 fame and integrating TC into the lineup. And I love Phil in CE et al; bass is high in the mix. Don't forget to sample the end of the month too...ahem. The 29th, and the "mystery disks, 1-4" that show up as the second to last entry for the yr hereabouts (or at least did for yrs, though I haven't looked lately).

Just don't tell anyone who you heard about it from...

Tell, I never really understood your renunciation of talking about all things Dead/1968. Did you really think we were that sick of you talking about it that you had to completely let it go? Despite the fact that you relentlessly advocate that era I never actually got annoyed about it; on the contrary, I usually appreciated the reminder and frequently took it as an opportunity to crack open my 68 collection again.

Well, thank you...

No, even though it sounded like I was sick and tired of this place, I put it poorly, as I often do.

I was tired of feeling "compelled" to address all things "early era", and moreso, to moderate nasty exchanges. It was really just the feeling of thinking "I have to post on this...or that..." that I denounced.

And since no one was holding a gun to my head, saying it publically in retrospect seems sorta silly, you know?

But, trust me, it helped immensely; and I really only did this above for the new kid, older and wiser though she be now, and probably won't mention it again for months.

You're prime minister emeritus now. You come and go as you please. We appreciate your making occasional wise and profound remarks for the benefit of those of us with decades less experience, but you no longer have hands-on responsibility for the daily goings-on.
Smtg like that?

Here we go with Batman again.

I'm thinking you have a slightly disturbing obsession with tights and capes.

If we're lucky, we might be spared any "Bat Pole" references.

Oooops, guess not.

Look who calls other people puerile and vapid.

I rest my case.

Hey, not saying that I'm not.

In fact, I believe I may be the resident expert on such things.
